Media report says that a former General Hokkeko Leader, Daisaku
Ikeda, has made a gpeace proposal,h which calls for a summit conference between
the US and Russia in order to achieve nuclear disarmament. Upon the inauguration
of President Obama in the United States, we knew that Daisaku Ikeda would do
something; his peace proposal is exactly what we have anticipated. He is an
individual who readily chimes in with others.
As a matter of course, gabsolute pacifismh is indeed the spirit of the
Rissho ankoku-ron written by
Nichiren Daishonin. Thus, we pray every day for the realization of a nuclear
reduction, to nuclear abolition, then to demilitarization. However, the
realization of such will become all the more distant with gopinions offered by
Daisaku Ikedah. I can say this affirmatively.
To begin with, it was the Komei Party which actively supported the
sending of the Self-Defense Forces to Iraq. The Komei Party followed former
President Bushfs policy of attacking Iraq, even to the extent of ignoring the UN
resolution. We should never forget this. In particular, a former Chairman of the
Komei Party back then, and a Soka Gakkai member, Kanzaki, stated, gThis is not a
dangerous area,h while he was having his hair cut in a barber in Iraq. Kanzaki
took a leadership role in sending the Self-Defense Force personnel to Iraq. We
must remember this as one of the acts of the former General Hokkeko Leader,
Daisaku Ikeda, who tries to take advantage of the Koizumifs
popularity.
It has been made clear that
gmass destructive weaponsh which was the main cause of plunging into the Iraqi
War, turned out to be a mistake. There has been no word of apology expressed for
the fact that this mistake has caused a loss of many peoplefs lives. Some say
that more than 10 million lives were taken. For your information, out of 19,700
dispatched Japanese Self-Defense Force personnel, 35 died although they were not
reported as the war dead. Out of those 35, it was reported to the Diet that 16
were suicides.
As a master of Kanzaki, who actively gave support to the gstupid
war,h and as someone who dominates the Gakkai, which is the foundation of the
Komei Party, what does Ikeda think about the responsibility of his disciple,
Kanzaki?
Speaking of Kanzaki, during his student days, he is said to have
received a pair of socks (not shoes) from his master, Daisaku Ikeda, and was so
moved that he made strong determination to fight for his master, no matter what.
We would like to question his responsibility as Kanzakifs
master.
President Obama has been all along opposed to sending the US troops to
Iraq since 2002, saying that the Iraqi War was a gstupid war.h Therefore,
he would not be influenced by the irresponsible gproposal for peace by
Daisaku Ikeda.h On the other hand, President Obamafs pledge is to achieve
nuclear disarmament, which has been longed for by everyone in the world.
Thus, it is also our desire that it be realized at the earliest possible
date.
Ikeda, who is the Second Advent of jealous Devadatta, made the
peace proposal because he is even jealous of Mr. Obamafs future achievements. In
other words, he wants to be able to claim later that the nuclear disarmament has
been accomplished because of his peace proposal, and make his disciples talk
about it. Everything is for ghis own fame.h If his proposal came true, this
gfame-chasing Presidenth would be able to show what a great man he is.
Nuclear weapons, mass destructive weapons, and regular weapons are
all means to kill people. They should not exist in the first place. Furthermore,
to someone who takes faith in the Buddhafs teachings, their existence should not
be accepted. If Ikeda has genuinely made the proposal in hopes of world peace,
why in the world didnft he oppose the Iraqi War when it broke out, just as
President Obama did? Why did he make his disciple, Kanzaki, wave the flag for
the war? He waited until this time to make the peace proposal.
If Ikeda is a true pacifist, and is a friend of the Chairman of
China and the Chinese Premier as he sells himself to be, he should strongly
recommend disarmament to China, who is steadily reinforcing armaments, by
saying, gLet us stop increasing armaments,h or gYou seem to be building up the
naval power by constructing aircraft carriers recently, but please stop it.h Or
even before he says these things, Ikeda should mention at least a greduction of
the Self-Defense Forcesh as a greatest supporter of the Liberal Democratic and
Komei Party administration. The gpeace proposalh performance is nothing but a
nuisance since Ikeda made it in pursuit of acceptance among Soka Gakkai members
as well as a group of people purporting to be intellectuals, who are blinded by
his financial strength.
Ikeda should once again go back to sincere faith by recalling one of Nichiren Daishoninfs teachings, gInconspicuous good deeds lead to conspicuous benefits.h
